How to Silence Villager Screams

Reducing Sound Volume

Whenever villagers take damage, they emit loud custom screams and may enter a crying state. If these sounds are too disruptive, you can adjust the volume through the Client Configuration settings. Navigate to your mod config options and locate the sound volume slider for villager reactions.

Silencing Individual Villagers

For a more targeted approach, you can silence specific villagers using Duct Tape. Apply Duct Tape to any villager to mute its sounds completely. This is particularly useful for Dumb Villagers, which can be especially noisy. You can remove the tape at any time with Shears if you want to restore normal sounds.

Configuration Tips

If you're running a server, the Server Configuration allows you to adjust spawn chances for unique villager variants. Reducing the spawn rate of Dumb Villagers may indirectly reduce overall noise in your villages.
