Preserve Gravestone Data When Moving It

Using Silk Touch

If you want to move your gravestone to a different location while keeping all its stored items and death information intact, you must use a pickaxe enchanted with Silk Touch. Regular pickaxes will destroy the grave and drop only the items inside, losing the gravestone block itself and its data.

Steps to Relocate a Grave

1. Obtain a pickaxe with Silk Touch enchantment

2. Mine the gravestone with this pickaxe

3. The gravestone will be collected as a block with all its data preserved

4. Place it on any diggable block in your chosen location

5. Right-click with a shovel to access items whenever needed

Placement Restrictions

Gravestones can only be placed on diggable blocks—this typically includes dirt, grass, sand, and similar materials. You cannot place them on stone or other non-diggable surfaces. Check your server's configuration, as these placement rules may be customized.
