How to Use Torchflowers as a Light Source
Getting Started
With the Glowing Torchflower Mod installed, any Torchflower you place in the world will emit light automatically. You do not need to craft anything special or apply any effect — the block itself glows the moment it is placed.
Placing Torchflowers for Light
1. Obtain Torchflower items (from the Torchflower seed, found in Sniffer digging loot, or however you normally get them in your world).
2. Place a Torchflower on a valid surface such as dirt, grass, or farmland. It will immediately emit light at level 12.
3. If you want a brighter light, place the Torchflower inside a Flower Pot instead. A potted Torchflower emits light at level 14, which is brighter than a standard placed flower.
4. Use potted Torchflowers along paths, in builds, or under overhangs where you want warm decorative lighting without torches.
Practical Tips
- Because the light comes from the flower itself, you can light up farms, gardens, and interiors without ugly torch placement.
- Remember that light level affects mob spawning. A potted Torchflower at level 14 is enough to suppress hostile mob spawns in the same way a torch would.
- If you want different brightness values, you can adjust them in the mod's config file rather than changing your build.
