How to Light Up Your Base with Torchflower Crops

Understanding Crop Light Levels

Torchflower crops do not all glow equally. The light they emit scales with their growth stage:

  • Small crops emit a low amount of light.
  • Medium crops emit a moderate amount of light.
  • Large (fully grown) crops emit the most light, matching a placed Torchflower.

This means a fully grown Torchflower farm can double as a lighting system.

Building a Glowing Farm

1. Prepare farmland and plant Torchflower seeds as you normally would.

2. Let the crops grow. As they progress through stages, watch the light around them increase.

3. Keep at least some crops fully grown if you want consistent, bright light in that area. Harvesting everything will drop the light level back down.

4. Combine rows of mature crops with potted Torchflowers for a layered lighting effect.

Practical Tips

  • A field of mature Torchflower crops can light a large area, so you can use it instead of placing torches around your farm.
  • If you need the seeds or flowers for crafting, harvest only part of the field at a time so the remaining crops keep glowing.
  • Light from crops still counts for mob-spawn prevention, so a mature Torchflower farm can keep an area safe at night.
