Using Glow Sticks to Explore Dark Caves and Pits
Preparing for Exploration
Craft several glow sticks in different colors before heading into dark areas. Having multiple sticks lets you mark your path and create visual landmarks as you explore. Different colors help you distinguish between different routes or areas.
Throwing Glow Sticks Safely
Glow sticks can be thrown long distances, making them ideal for scouting ahead. Hold a glow stick in your hand and throw it (right-click and release) into unexplored areas, dark pits, or caves. The stick will land and continue glowing, illuminating the space without requiring you to venture into danger immediately.
Mapping Your Route
Use thrown glow sticks as breadcrumbs to mark your path through complex cave systems. Throw one every so often to create a visible trail back to your starting point. This prevents getting lost in sprawling underground networks.
Checking Pit Depth
When you encounter a dark pit and need to know how deep it is, simply throw a glow stick down. Watch where it lands and how far it falls. The glowing light will help you judge the distance and decide whether it's safe to descend.
