How to Craft and Activate a Glow Stick

Finding the Right Recipe

Glow sticks come in sixteen different colors, and each color has its own unique crafting recipe. Since recipes vary by color, the easiest way to find what you need is to check Just Enough Items (JEI) or a similar recipe viewer mod. Search for the color of glow stick you want to make, and JEI will show you the exact ingredients required.

Crafting Your Glow Stick

Once you've identified the recipe, gather the required materials and craft the glow stick at a crafting table. The result will be an inactive glow stick.

Activating the Glow Stick

To activate your glow stick and make it emit light, you'll need to use it. Hold the glow stick in your hand and interact with it (right-click by default). The stick will then begin glowing and producing light. Once activated, you can throw it, place it, or carry it to illuminate your surroundings.

Activated glow sticks work even when submerged in water, making them perfect for underwater exploration or checking the depth of dark bodies of water.
