Identifying Redstone with Glow

Redstone ore now glows with a distinctive orange-red light, making it stand out sharply from surrounding stone even in pitch-black caves. This makes redstone farming and collection much faster than searching manually.

Finding Redstone Efficiently

1. Mine between Y-level 8 and Y-level 16 where redstone spawns most frequently.

2. Watch for orange glowing blocks — redstone's glow is warmer and more orange than other ores.

3. Follow clusters — redstone often spawns in groups, so finding one ore usually means more nearby.

4. Dig toward the glow if you see light coming through unexposed stone.

Collection Strategy

• Use an iron pickaxe or better to collect redstone ore. Wooden or stone pickaxes will break the block but drop nothing.
• Bring a Fortune enchanted pickaxe to maximize redstone dust drops from each ore block.
• Redstone is most abundant at lower depths, so combine redstone hunting with diamond or other deep-ore searches.
• The bright glow makes it easy to spot even small veins you might otherwise miss in large cave systems.
