Finding Diamonds Faster with Glowing Ores

Why Glowing Ores Help

Diamond ore now emits a bright glow in dark caves, making it visible from much farther away than unmodified ore. This eliminates the need to carefully scan stone walls and lets you spot valuable deposits while exploring.

How to Spot Glowing Diamonds

1. Mine below Y-level 16 where diamonds naturally spawn. The deeper you go, the darker your surroundings become, making the glow more visible.

2. Look for cyan/light blue glowing blocks against regular stone. The contrast is strongest in unlit caves.

3. Listen for cave ambience — diamonds often cluster near open caverns where darkness is deepest and the glow stands out most.

4. Use the glow as a guide to navigate toward ore clusters rather than mining randomly.

Tips for Efficiency

• Mine at night or in deep caves where ambient light is minimal. The glow is most obvious in complete darkness.
• Bring a pickaxe rated for diamonds (iron or better) so you can collect ore immediately when spotted.
• The glow works through walls, so you may see light coming from stone you haven't exposed yet — dig toward it.
• Combine this with strip mining or cave exploration for maximum ore discovery.
