Enable Random Entity Variants to See Different Animal Skins

Access Video Settings

Open your video settings menu and locate the Optifine section. This resource pack requires Optifine to display the multiple animal and mob variants it includes.

Turn On Random Entities

Find the Random Entities option in your Optifine video settings and enable it. This setting allows the pack to spawn different visual versions of the same mob or animal type.

Verify Custom Entity Models

While in the video menu, also confirm that Custom Entity Models is turned on. This works alongside Random Entities to fully display the new zombie, creeper, skeleton, spider, cow, pig, chicken, and wolf variants included in the pack.

See the Difference

Once both settings are active, walk around your world and you'll notice animals no longer all look identical. Cows may have different markings, pigs come in new color variations, and hostile mobs display unique appearances. Each time a new mob spawns, it may have a different look from others of its kind.

Without these settings enabled, all entities will use their default appearance regardless of the resource pack being installed.
