How to Plant a Flower in a Flower Pot or Decorated Pot

The Basic Crouch-Plant Method

With Gardener's Dream installed, you no longer need to place a pot, then swap to the plant, then right-click the pot. Instead, the mod lets you plant directly while standing on the pot.

1. Place your flower pot (or decorated pot) on the ground where you want it.

2. Hold the plant you want to put inside in your main hand. This can be a small flower, a sapling, a mushroom, or any other plantable block the mod supports.

3. Stand on top of the pot. You need to be physically on the block, not just next to it.

4. Crouch (hold your sneak key) while standing on the pot. The plant in your hand will be placed into the pot automatically.

Things to Check If Nothing Happens

• Make sure you are actually crouching. Standing on the pot without sneaking will not trigger planting.
• Make sure the pot is empty. You cannot stack a second plant into an occupied pot.
• Make sure your hand is holding a valid plant. Holding a non-plant item (a tool, a block of stone, food) will do nothing.
• If you are on a decorated pot, the same rule applies — crouch on top while holding the plant.

This works the same in both survival and creative, so you can decorate builds quickly without breaking and replacing pots.
