Setting Up Right-Click Rules

Use rightclicks.json to trigger custom effects when players right-click blocks, based on conditions like held items, location, or biome.

Configuration Process

1. Open config/rfcontrol/rightclicks.json

2. Define a rule with conditions:

  • block: Specify which blocks trigger the interaction
  • helditem: Require players to hold specific items
  • dimension or biome: Limit interactions to certain locations
  • gamestage: Gate interactions behind progression stages

3. Set the action—this could apply effects, trigger events, or modify behavior

4. Save the file and test in-game

Common Scenarios

  • Right-click a block while holding an item to gain a temporary effect
  • Create location-specific interactions that only work in certain biomes
  • Implement progression gates where right-clicking is only allowed after reaching a game stage
  • Combine multiple conditions for complex, context-sensitive interactions
