Recovering Gold from Bells and Other Village Loot

The Idea

Bells are a classic village decoration, but if you've got spares or you're clearing out a village, smelting a bell gives you a gold ingot. That's a clean way to convert a decorative block into usable gold.

Steps

1. Obtain a bell — they generate in village meeting points, or you can craft one if you have the materials.

2. Place a furnace and add fuel.

3. Put the bell in the top slot.

4.

Other Gold Sources to Recycle

Bells aren't the only gold-bearing item. Anything vanilla that contains gold and can be smelted is fair game — think about gold tools, armor, and similar items you no longer need. The same partial-recovery rule applies: bigger gold items tend to give ingots, while small ones may give nuggets.

Practical Uses

  • Turn surplus bells into gold for powered rails, golden apples, or trading.
  • Recycle worn-out gold armor and tools instead of throwing them in a chest forever.
  • Keep a small "gold scrap" chest next to your furnace so you always have something to smelt when you need a quick ingot.

Note

You won't get back everything that went into crafting the item — the mod is about reclaiming some value, not duplicating materials.
