Place a Statue and Make It Face the Right Direction

How Statues Orient Themselves

When you place a statue in the world, it automatically turns to face toward you—the player who placed it. This means the statue's front will always point in your direction at the moment of placement.

Positioning Your Statue

1. Stand where you want the statue to face. Decide which direction you'd like the finished statue to look.

2. Move to the opposite side. Walk around to the opposite side of where you want the statue placed.

3. Place the statue. Right-click (or use your place block key) to set it down. It will face back toward you.

4. Adjust if needed. If the orientation isn't quite right, break the statue and repeat from a different angle.

Tips for Placement

This facing mechanic works well for creating scenes—place multiple statues while standing in front of them so they all look outward toward a viewer area. For castle entrances, stand inside the castle and place guardian statues so they face outward. For garden displays, stand in the center and place statues around you in a circle.
