Troubleshooting Missing or Incorrect Textures
Identifying Texture Problems
Sometimes blocks appear with missing textures (purple and black checkerboard) or look incorrect. This usually means the resource pack didn't load properly or conflicts with another pack.
Quick Fixes
1. Restart Minecraft completely—partial reloads sometimes don't refresh textures
2. Go to Options > Resource Packs and toggle Fresh Textures off, then back on
3. Check that the pack is actually enabled (it should appear in the "Selected" list, not "Available")
4. Delete any .mcmeta cache files in the resource pack folder
5. Relaunch the game
If Problems Persist
- Verify the resource pack file isn't corrupted by re-downloading it
- Disable all other resource packs temporarily to isolate conflicts
- Check your Minecraft version matches the pack's requirements
- Look for error messages in your launcher log
- Ensure you have sufficient RAM allocated to Minecraft
Checking Specific Blocks
Load a creative world and spawn problem blocks directly. If only certain blocks are affected, a mod or another resource pack is likely overriding Fresh Textures for those specific items.
