Understanding When 3D Models Appear and Disappear

Where You'll See 3D Models

The enhanced 3D plant models display exclusively when you hold items in your hand during active gameplay. This means they appear in first-person view when you're holding a flower, sapling, or coral item in either your main hand or off-hand.

Where Models Don't Appear

The pack intentionally keeps items in their classic 2D sprite form in:

  • Your inventory grid
  • The hotbar display
  • Item frames and armor stands
  • Crafting tables and other GUIs
  • Ground drops and entity displays

This design choice preserves the familiar vanilla interface while adding visual depth only during active item use.

Why This Design Matters

By limiting 3D models to hand-held items, the pack maintains visual consistency with vanilla Minecraft's UI while still delivering the immersion boost you want during gameplay. This approach also reduces performance impact since models only render in the most visible context, making the pack lightweight and compatible with various hardware configurations.
