How to Make Fresh Animations Work With Other Resource Packs

Understanding the Load Order

Fresh Animations only changes entity animations, so it is designed to sit on top of another resource pack that supplies the textures. If you enable it alone, mobs will animate correctly but keep vanilla textures. If you enable it below a texture pack, that pack's textures win while Fresh Animations still drives the movement.

Stacking Packs Correctly

1. Open Options, then Resource Packs.

2. Move your texture pack (the one with custom mob skins) to the top of the Selected list.

3. Place Fresh Animations directly underneath it.

4. If you also use a pack that edits entity models, put that pack above Fresh Animations too, since model files override animation files.

5. Click Done and let the game reload.

If a mob looks frozen or T-poses, the pack above Fresh Animations is likely replacing the same entity model. Disable that pack temporarily to confirm, then look for a compatibility version or a patch pack that merges both.

Checking It Worked

Spawn a zombie or villager and watch for idle swaying, head turns, and smoother walking. If animations are missing entirely, make sure Fresh Animations is actually in the Selected column and not just Available.
