How to Set Up a Dinosaur Feeding Station

Converting a Composter Block

Place a standard Minecraft composter block in your dinosaur enclosure or near your tamed creatures. This block automatically converts into a feeding trough that your prehistoric pets recognize and use.

Filling the Trough with Food

Interact with the composter block and add food items. Different dinosaurs prefer different foods—carnivores need meat while herbivores prefer vegetation. Check each species' diet to stock appropriate supplies. The trough will hold multiple food items.

Managing Herds

Wild dinosaur herds will naturally gather around active feeding troughs to eat. This makes it easier to observe their behavior, genetics, and social groupings. Tamed dinosaurs will also use the trough, reducing the need to hand-feed each individual.

Maintaining Your Station

Refill the trough regularly to keep your creatures well-fed and healthy. Well-fed dinosaurs are more likely to breed and produce offspring with varied genetics. Multiple troughs spread throughout your enclosure ensure all animals have access to food.
