How to Revive a Dinosaur from a Fossil

Finding and Preparing Fossils

Fossils are scattered throughout your world in ancient structures and buried underground. When you find a fossil block, mine it carefully to collect it. Fossils contain the genetic blueprint of prehistoric creatures and must be processed before revival.

Using the Analyzer

Place your fossil into an Analyzer block. This machine will examine the fossil and extract its genetic data. The process takes time, so be patient. Once complete, the Analyzer will produce a Fossil Egg or genetic material depending on the fossil type.

Incubating Your Egg

Take the resulting egg and place it in a warm environment—near lava, in sunlight, or on a heat source. The egg will gradually incubate. You can speed up the process by keeping the egg in optimal conditions. Once fully incubated, the egg will hatch and your dinosaur will spawn into the world.

Taming Your New Creature

Newly hatched dinosaurs are wild. Approach cautiously and use the appropriate food for that species to tame it. Each dinosaur type has preferred foods. Once tamed, it will follow you and can be ridden or used in combat.
