Getting Started with Bees

Beekeeping is the foundation of Forestry. Start by finding a Princess and a Drone of the same species in the wild or by purchasing them from other players.

Building and Populating Your Apiary

1. Craft an Apiary block and place it in a suitable location—bees work best in specific biomes and light conditions.

2. Place your Princess in the Apiary's top-left slot and a Drone in the top-right slot.

3. Stock the Apiary with Frames (crafted from wood and other materials). Frames boost production and can be reused.

4. Ensure the Apiary has access to flowers nearby—bees need pollen sources to produce offspring and resources.

5. You'll receive honey, honeycomb, and potentially new offspring.

Maintaining Your Colony

Check your Apiary regularly. Dead colonies need replacement bees. Upgrade to a Bee House or Alveary for larger-scale operations. Different bee species produce different products—experiment to find the most valuable combinations for your playstyle.
