Finding Butterflies

Butterflies spawn naturally in specific biomes and times of day. Equip a Net and search flower-rich areas during appropriate conditions. Different species appear in different environments—explore varied terrain to build a diverse collection.

Catching and Storage

1. Right-click a butterfly with your Net to catch it. The butterfly is stored in the Net.

2. Craft or obtain Butterfly Containers to hold your catches permanently.

3. Transfer butterflies from the Net into Containers for safe storage and transport.

4. Use Display Cases or Lepidopterist's Chests to showcase your collection.

Breeding and Genetics

Once you have multiple butterflies, experiment with breeding in specialized blocks to produce new species and color variants. Each butterfly has genetic traits that can be combined. Document rare specimens and work toward completing your Butterfly Compendium for achievement and knowledge.
