Understanding Bee Genetics

Every bee has traits like productivity, lifespan, and fertility. Breeding allows you to combine traits from two parent bees to create offspring with improved characteristics.

Selective Breeding Process

1. Identify the traits you want—check your bees' stats in the Apiary interface.

2. Select a Princess and Drone that each possess one or more desired traits.

3. Place them together in an Apiary with quality Frames to increase breeding success.

4. Collect offspring and analyze their traits using the bee interface.

5. Repeat the process, keeping only bees that match your breeding goals.

Accelerating Results

Use Enchanted Frames or upgrade to an Alveary with genetic modules to speed up mutations and trait inheritance. Some traits are recessive—you may need multiple generations to achieve your target. Document your breeding lines to avoid confusion and track progress toward rare or valuable bee species.
