How to Adjust Fog Density for Water and Lava

Water Fog

Water fog controls how far you can see while submerged. Open the mod config and find the water fog section, which is separate from biome fog. Lowering the density lets you see farther underwater, which helps with ocean exploration and building. Raising it creates a thick, murky effect for a more claustrophobic feel. Set the value, save, and dive in to check the result.

Lava Fog

Lava fog works the same way but applies when you are inside lava. By default lava fog is very thick, so many players reduce it to see their surroundings while mining or building in the Nether. Find the lava fog entry, adjust the density, and save. Remember this affects visibility only, not damage, so you still need fire protection to survive.

Combining With Biome Settings

Water and lava fog are global overrides, so they apply regardless of which biome you are in. If a specific biome also has fog settings, test how the two interact by entering that biome and submerging. If the result is not what you want, adjust the global water or lava value first, since it usually takes precedence while submerged. Reload the world after each change to confirm.
