Make Your First Bow from Raw Logs
Gather Materials
Start by collecting raw logs from any tree. You'll also need to find or craft a riser (wood, iron, or copper) and string. Risers determine your bow's durability and draw strength, so choose based on what you have available.
Strip Logs into Rough Limbs
Place your raw logs into a
Shaving Horse and use a
Drawknife to strip them. This removes the bark and creates Rough Limbs—the foundation of your bow's limbs. You'll need two limbs per bow.
Steam Your Limbs
Place a
Steam Box over a campfire and fill it with water. The steam box can process multiple limbs at once, so batch your work if you're making several bows.
Assemble at the Fletching Table
Take your pliable limbs, riser, and string to the Fletching Table. You'll play a quick minigame where timing matters—hit the sweet spot to maximize your bow's quality. Higher quality bows deal more damage and last longer.
Finish and Test
Your completed bow is ready to use. Equip it like a normal bow and fire arrows at targets to test its performance.
