Locate a Stronghold or Mob Spawner

Using the Compass for Structures and Spawners

Beyond ores, the Finder Compass can point you toward major structures and dangerous locations.

Finding Strongholds

1. Right-click your compass until you select Adventuring Mode or a stronghold-tracking mode

2. The needle will point toward the nearest stronghold

3. Travel in that direction—strongholds are typically far away

4. The compass will guide you across terrain and through obstacles

5. When you arrive at the location, dig down to find the stronghold structure

Locating Mob Spawners

1. Cycle to a mob spawner tracking mode (if available on your server)

2. Follow the needle to the nearest spawner

3. Spawners are often found in dungeons, mineshafts, or other generated structures

4. Approach carefully, as spawners attract hostile mobs

Important Notes

Strongholds and spawners are rare and may be very far from your starting location. Bring supplies for a long journey. The compass only points to the nearest target of its type, so multiple strongholds or spawners may exist in your world.
