How to Enable FullBright and See in Caves Without Torches
FullBright in Feather Remake brightens dark areas so you can navigate caves, mines, and night-time terrain without placing torches or drinking potions. It works through a night vision effect, and importantly it does not add any extra icons to your screen.
Turning it on
Open the mod menu with Right Shift, find the FullBright option, and enable it. The effect applies immediately — dark caves will look lit as if you had a light source. Because it uses a night vision effect under the hood, the world takes on the characteristic brightened look rather than pure white light.
When to use it
- Caving and mining: spot ores, drops, and mobs without wasting torches.
- Night exploration: travel overland after dark without a light source.
- Building in dim areas: check colors and block placement accurately.
Things to keep in mind
FullBright is a client-side visual change. Other players will not see your screen brightened, and it does not actually light up the world for mob spawning purposes — hostile mobs can still spawn in genuinely dark spots. If you toggle it off, lighting returns to normal instantly. Some players prefer to bind it to a key for quick switching, so check the mod menu for a keybind option if you want to flip it on and off mid-session rather than opening the menu each time.
