Faction battles occur randomly as you explore, but you can increase your chances by traveling through diverse biomes and spending time in open areas. Listen for combat sounds—clashing weapons and mob noises indicate a skirmish nearby.

Tips for Encountering Battles

1. Travel actively - Walk through different biome types rather than staying in one location. Battles spawn more frequently when you're moving.

2. Explore at night - Faction encounters may be more common during darker hours when more mobs are active.

3. Adjust event frequency - Open Mods > Config and lower the event timer (try 1200 or 3600 ticks) to see battles more often.

4. Stay at a distance - When you spot a battle, maintain distance to observe without interfering. Armies will continue fighting regardless of your presence.

5. Collect drops - Defeated mobs leave special loot, so battles are good opportunities to gather rare items.
