Functional Fencing with Style

Fabulous Fences maintains full compatibility with Minecraft's fence mechanics while upgrading the visual presentation. You can still use fences for their original purpose—containing animals and creating barriers—but now they'll look significantly more polished and detailed.

Creating Functional Enclosures

1. Plan your perimeter — Decide the dimensions of your pen or enclosure and mark the corners.

2. Place fence blocks — Build your walls by placing fences in a continuous line. Fences connect automatically to adjacent fence blocks and fence gates.

3. Add gates — Install fence gates at entry points. Match the gate wood type to your fences for visual consistency.

4. Close the roof (optional) — For aerial animals or to prevent escapes, cap the top with fence blocks or slabs.

5. Add interior details — Place feeders, water, or shelter blocks inside to make the space functional and lived-in.

6. Vary wood types — Use different fence variants for different animal types (oak for cows, dark oak for horses) to organize your farm visually.

The enhanced models make even simple rectangular pens feel intentional and well-crafted, so your farm or animal area becomes a genuine part of your build's aesthetic.
