How to Grow Custom Trees from Saplings

Obtaining Custom Saplings

Custom saplings drop when you break leaves from the unique trees found throughout ExtrabiomesXL biomes. Redwood trees, Autumn Woods trees, and other biome-specific trees all produce their own sapling variants. Break leaf blocks with your hand or shears to collect saplings—shears are faster and more efficient.

Planting and Growing Trees

Place saplings on dirt, grass, or podzol blocks just like vanilla saplings. The sapling will grow into its corresponding tree type when conditions are right. Ensure the area has adequate space above the sapling—different tree types require different heights and widths to fully mature.

You can accelerate growth by using bone meal on saplings, which works the same way as vanilla Minecraft.

Using Your Custom Trees

Once grown, harvest the wood for unique building materials. Custom wood types have distinct colors and textures that differ from vanilla oak, spruce, and birch. Use them for:
