How to Profit from Villager Price Fluctuations with Extra Trades Mod

Understanding the Mechanics

Villager prices aren't fixed. Every time you complete a trade, the villager's demand for that item shifts, and the cost or payout adjusts. Extra Trades Mod multiplies the number of trades affected by this, which creates real arbitrage opportunities if you pay attention.

Reading the Market

1. Open a villager's trade screen and note the current emerald cost or payout for each offer.

2. Complete a trade once and watch the number change — buy prices creep up, sell payouts creep down as demand is satisfied.

3. Stop trading that offer and let the villager restock (they need access to their workstation and time to pass). Prices drift back toward baseline.

4. Compare the same offer across several villagers of the same profession. Because demand is tracked per villager, one may pay noticeably more than another.

Exploiting the Spread

  • Sell bulk items only to villagers whose payout is currently high, then move to the next villager instead of draining one dry.
  • Buy items when a villager's price has reset to its lowest point, ideally after a restock.
  • Use cured zombie villagers for a permanent discount that stacks with the natural price floor.
  • Keep a written or signed record of which villagers give the best rates so you always route trades to the most profitable partner.
