How to Instantly Grow Crops with Sneak + Bone Meal

The Sneak Trick

Normally, using Bone Meal on a plant just advances its growth stage. With Extended Bone Meal, holding the sneak key (default: Shift) while using Bone Meal on a supported plant forces it to fully mature in a single use. This is the fastest way to finish a crop that is already planted.

Step-by-Step

1. Plant your crop as usual (wheat, carrots, potatoes, beetroot, or any other supported plant).

2. Hold the sneak key down and keep it held.

3. While still sneaking, right-click the plant with Bone Meal in your hand.

4. The plant should jump straight to its final growth stage instead of advancing one step.

Tips

• If the plant only advances one stage, you were not sneaking when the Bone Meal was applied. Release and re-press sneak, then try again.
• This works best on crops you have already placed. For spreading plants like vines or cactus, the behavior may differ, so test on a single block first.
• Sneak-growing is ideal for finishing a farm right before harvest or for quickly producing food during a trip.
• Keep a stack of Bone Meal in your offhand so you can sneak and click without swapping items.
