Preparing the Foundation

The Gravel Desert consists of thick gravel mounds creating an uneven, sandy landscape. Before building, clear and level your chosen area. Gravel will fall when unsupported, so remove it systematically and replace it with solid blocks for your foundation. This prevents structural collapse and creates a stable building platform.

Construction Strategy

Use the abundant gravel as a temporary building material for scaffolding, but replace it with permanent blocks (stone, netherrack, or custom mod blocks) for your actual structure. The open terrain provides visibility for defense against mobs, making it suitable for bases. Build walls or barriers to protect against hostile spawns.

Terrain Modification

The Gravel Desert's mounds can be reshaped for aesthetic builds. Flatten areas for farms or storage rooms, or incorporate the natural hills into your design. Compact gravel layers by placing blocks on top to stabilize them. Consider terracing the landscape to create multiple building levels while maintaining structural integrity.
