Catch Saltwater Fish in the Ocean
Finding Ocean Fish
Travel to ocean biomes and cast your fishing rod into the water. Saltwater fish like halibut, herring, mackerel, and sardines spawn in these deeper waters. The further from shore you go, the better your chances of finding rare ocean species.
Dealing with Pikefish
Beware of pikefish—aggressive predators with sharp teeth that inhabit oceans. They may attack you if you're in the water, so stay alert or fish from a boat or shore. They're dangerous but can be caught and processed like other fish.
Harvesting Your Catch
Once you've caught saltwater fish, bring them back to cook or process. You can roast them over a fire for food, or if you have access to a meathook, butcher certain species for filets. Ocean fishing provides variety and unique food sources compared to freshwater catches.
