Fighting the Initial Infection

When you start, parasites hide in dark areas and begin spreading curses across your world. Your first priority is locating and destroying these early parasites before they grow too strong.

Use fire-based weapons and magma to deal heavy damage—these are particularly effective against parasites in the early game. Watch for infected blocks and contaminated water sources, as these indicate where the infection is gathering biomass to spawn stronger mobs.

As the parasites strengthen, they'll create new hostile creatures that hunt you down. When combat becomes too difficult, begin constructing multi-block magic altars. These structures let you craft better gear and gain protective buffs to survive increasingly dangerous encounters. This progression from simple fire weapons to altar-crafted equipment is essential for lasting through the infection's expansion.
