How to Use Chestplate Enchantments: Amphibious and Strafe
Amphibious: Underwater and Fire Utility
Amphibious turns your chestplate into an all-purpose environmental survival tool. While worn:
- Movement speed and mining speed increase while submerged.
- Underwater breath is extended significantly.
- Time spent on fire is halved.
This makes it the go-to enchantment for ocean monuments, underwater caves, and Nether exploration where lava and fire are constant threats. Pair it with a helmet enchantment like Perception so you can actually see what you are mining underwater.
Strafe: Air Mobility and Burst Movement
Strafe changes how you move in combat and while airborne:
- Double-tap the sprint key to launch yourself in your current movement direction.
- Air mobility is improved, letting you adjust mid-jump more freely.
This is a PvP and parkour favorite. It lets you dodge attacks, close gaps, or escape falls. Practice the double-tap timing in a safe area first — mistiming it mid-fight can leave you exposed.
How to Apply and Combine
1. Enchant your chestplate at the mod's enchanting station.
2. Choose Amphibious for exploration builds, Strafe for combat or movement builds.
3. You can only fit so many enchantments per piece — plan your loadout around your primary activity.
Practical Combos
- Amphibious + underwater mining gear = efficient ocean resource runs.
- Strafe + a helmet with Veil = slippery stealth build that is hard to pin down.
