How to Swap Between Your Chestplate and Elytra Mid-Flight

The whole point of this mod is that you can trade your chest armor for wings (and back) without ever opening your inventory. Here is how to do it safely while airborne.

The Basic Swap

1. Make sure you have both a chestplate and an elytra somewhere in your inventory, not just in your hotbar.

2. Press the swap keybind (default is the grave accent key, ` `, which is ²` on AZERTY).

3. The mod takes the elytra from your inventory and puts it in the chest slot, moving your chestplate back into the inventory.

4. Press the same key again to reverse the swap.

Swapping While Flying

• You can trigger the swap outside the inventory, so it works mid-glide.
• Swap to the elytra *before* you jump off a ledge, or while already gliding if you need to re-equip wings.
• If you swap to a chestplate while gliding, you will lose your wings and start falling, so only do this when you are ready to land or have another plan.
• The swap is instant, so there is no animation window where you are left with an empty chest slot.

Practice on flat ground first so you learn the timing before trying it over a ravine.
