Using Elemental Maces Safely Without Taking Damage

Each mace grants you immunity to its own element while you hold it. The Smouldering Mace makes you immune to fire damage, so you can stand safely inside your own protective flame ring without taking damage. The Withering Mace gives you complete immunity to the wither effect, letting you fight in the wither cloud you create without losing health.

Positioning Matters

The Ender Mace and Resonating Mace don't grant damage immunity, so use positioning instead. When using the Ender Mace, stay back after launching enemies into the air—don't follow them into danger. With the Resonating Mace, the sonic blast blinds enemies but doesn't protect you, so use the confusion to create distance or heal. Remember that immunity only applies while holding the weapon. Switch away and you lose protection, so keep your mace equipped during dangerous encounters.
