Set Up a New World with Dynamic Rivers

Creating Your World

Dynamic Waters requires a fresh world to generate its river systems properly. The mod calculates river paths during world generation, so existing worlds won't have these flowing waterways.

1. Open Minecraft and select Create New World

2. Choose your preferred game mode (Survival, Creative, etc.)

3. Configure world settings as desired—biome mods like Biomes O' Plenty, Terralith, Regions Unexplored, and Nature's Spirit are fully compatible

4. Leave all other settings at default unless you have specific preferences

5. Create the world and let it generate fully

Exploring Your Rivers

Once loaded, explore the Overworld to discover the river network. You'll find:

  • Mountain streams flowing downhill from high terrain
  • Branching rivers that split into multiple channels across valleys
  • Coastal deltas where wide rivers divide before reaching the ocean
  • Active water currents that push objects and mobs downstream

The river paths are calculated in the background during generation, so you won't experience loading freezes. Simply travel across the landscape to find these natural waterways.
