Fixing Tooltips That Are Too Long or Cluttered

Diagnosing the Clutter

Dynamic Tooltips Mod adds many optional sections, and with several enabled at once a single tooltip can cover most of the screen. The fix is to trim which sections are active rather than removing the mod.

Trimming Config Sections

Open the config file and review every enabled option. Turn off categories you rarely need, such as attribute lines on common blocks or durability on items that never take damage. Prioritize the information you check most: enchantments on gear, durability on tools. Save after each round of changes so you can tell which toggle caused a difference.

Reducing Custom Descriptions

If you added many custom descriptions, long text blocks are a common cause of oversized tooltips. Shorten each description to a single line and delete entries for items you no longer need explained.

Checking for Conflicts

Other tooltip mods can stack their own lines on top of this one, doubling the length. Temporarily disable other tooltip mods to see whether the clutter drops. If it does, keep only one tooltip mod active or configure the others to stay minimal. Reload and hover a few items to confirm the tooltip now fits comfortably on screen without hiding the item name.
