Adding Custom Descriptions to Items with Dynamic Tooltips
Understanding Custom Descriptions
The mod supports custom descriptions, letting you attach your own text to items so their tooltips explain what they do. This is useful for modded items whose purpose is unclear, or for labeling gear in a shared world.
Locating the Description Config
Open the mod's config file and find the section that handles custom or per-item descriptions. This is typically a list or map where each entry pairs an item identifier with the text you want shown. The exact format depends on your config version, so read any comments included in the file before editing.
Adding an Entry
Identify the item you want to describe. Add a new entry following the same pattern as any example already present, using the item's identifier and your description text. Keep descriptions short so they do not overflow the tooltip. Save the file when done.
Testing Your Description
Reload the game and hover the item. Your custom text should appear alongside the mod's dynamic sections. If it does not show, check for typos in the item identifier and confirm the entry sits inside the correct list. Remove or comment out entries you no longer want, and keep a backup of the config so custom descriptions survive updates.
