Finding Your First Ducks

Search for ducks in rivers, swamps, beaches, forests, and taigas. Look for a flock swimming or standing together—you'll spot the leader by the glowing particle crown above its head.

Taming and Breeding

Hold seeds in your hand and right-click the leader duck to tame it. The entire flock will now follow you. Lead them to a contained area like a pen or enclosure near your base.

Tamed adult ducks will lay eggs over time. Collect these eggs as they appear on the ground.

Hatching Baby Ducks

Throw duck eggs on the ground to hatch baby ducks. Baby ducks will run around quickly but won't fly away. Keep them in your pen with their parents to grow a sustainable flock.

As your flock grows, you'll have a steady supply of duck meat and feathers without needing to hunt wild ducks. Tamed ducks remain calm around monsters, so they're safe in most environments.
