Understanding the Fog Mechanic

Fog in this mod is not just visual—it's where stalking monsters hide and watch you. Creatures lurk silently in thick fog, observing without attacking immediately. The fog creates a sense of vulnerability because you cannot see threats clearly.

Safe Fog Practices

When traveling through fog, move quickly but deliberately. Don't stop to look around or investigate shapes in the mist. The longer you pause, the more likely monsters will close in. Keep torches or light sources active—they reduce the effective range of stalking monsters.

Stay near landmarks and familiar terrain. Getting lost in fog increases panic and disorientation, which the mod uses to heighten fear.

When Monsters Chase

If a stalking monster becomes aggressive and chases you, run toward your base or a lit area. Do not attempt to fight—the mod discourages combat with these creatures. Running and hiding is the intended survival method.

Never venture into fog at night unless absolutely necessary. Daytime fog is manageable; nighttime fog is where the mod's horror peaks. Plan routes that minimize fog exposure, especially during dark hours.
