Direbat Encounters & Combat

Direbats are neutral cave-dwelling creatures that turn hostile if light levels exceed 4 or if you attack them first. They respond to vibrations, so approach hanging bats carefully to avoid waking them.

When attacking, Direbats inflict blindness and can steal items from your inventory during combat. Upon death, they drop fangs. Combine these fangs with arrows to craft Direbat Arrows, which inflict extended blindness on impact—useful for both PvP and mob fights.

Direbats spawn naturally in dark caves, but also appear on the surface during full moon nights. Keep your distance or use ranged weapons to avoid their item-stealing claws.
