Enable LabPBR Lighting Effects on Your Builds

What You Need

LabPBR effects require a shader loader. Install Iris (or equivalent) alongside the resource pack—shaders are what read the normal and specular maps baked into every texture.

Steps to Activate

1. Launch Minecraft with both Detailed Worlds and Iris installed.

2. Open Options > Resource Packs and move Detailed Worlds to active.

3. Open Options > Shader Options (added by Iris).

4. Select any shader pack. Even minimal shaders will display LabPBR depth and reflections.

5. Return to your world. Blocks now show realistic surface detail—wood grain catches light, stone reflects subtly, water and metal gleam.

Troubleshooting

If surfaces look flat or untextured:

  • Confirm the shader is actually loaded (check shader name in pause menu).
  • Verify Continuity is installed (handles connected textures that LabPBR depends on).
  • Reload chunks by moving far away and returning.

If performance drops, switch to a lighter shader or reduce render distance. LabPBR maps are pre-calculated, so the cost is mainly the shader's processing, not the pack itself.
