Locating and Harvesting Amethyst Geodes

Finding Amethyst Geodes

Amethyst geodes are rare, round structures hidden deep underground in the negative coordinate layers. They don't have an obvious entrance—you need to mine through solid deepslate to find them. Explore large cave systems and mine outward from cave walls to increase your chances of breaking into a geode.

Harvesting Amethyst Crystals

Inside a geode, you'll find purple amethyst crystal blocks lining the walls. Mine these with any pickaxe to collect amethyst shards. The crystals grow in clusters, so a single geode yields multiple shards.

Amethyst shards have decorative and crafting uses. You can combine them to create amethyst blocks for building, or use them in other recipes depending on your mod setup.

Exploration Strategy

Geodes are easier to find when you're actively exploring cave systems rather than strip-mining. Listen for the distinctive sound of crystals and watch for the purple glow inside cave walls. Mark geode locations with torches or signs so you can return later to harvest more crystals as they regrow over time.
