How to Find Dense Trees in Your World

Locating Dense Trees

Dense trees look identical to vanilla trees at first glance, but they emit distinctive particle effects from their logs. The easiest way to spot them is to explore forest biomes where they naturally spawn alongside regular trees.

Identifying Them Visually

Walk through forests and watch for animated particles rising from tree trunks—this visual cue distinguishes dense trees from ordinary ones. You may need to look carefully, especially during the day when particles are subtle. Dense trees generate randomly, so not every tree you encounter will be dense.

Checking Your Config

If you're not finding dense trees, verify that your mod's biomeBlacklist setting hasn't excluded your current biome. Check the mod's configuration file to confirm dense tree spawning is enabled and that the biome you're exploring isn't blacklisted. Some servers or modpacks may disable dense trees in specific biomes intentionally.

Harvesting Strategy

Once you've identified a dense tree, harvest it normally. The particle effects will intensify as you break the logs, confirming you've found the right tree. Collect all the wood—you'll receive significantly more planks per log than from regular trees.
