Growing Dense Trees from Saplings

Enabling Sapling Growth

If the enableSaplingToDenseTree option is enabled in your mod config, saplings have a chance to grow into dense trees instead of regular ones. This feature allows you to farm dense trees intentionally rather than relying solely on natural generation.

Planting and Growing

Plant saplings normally in dirt or grass blocks with adequate light. They will grow into either regular or dense trees based on the configured probability. The saplingToDenseTreeChance setting controls how often saplings become dense trees—higher percentages mean more frequent dense tree growth.

Setting Up a Farm

Create a sapling farm in a flat, well-lit area. Plant multiple saplings to increase your chances of growing dense trees. Over time, you'll accumulate a renewable source of high-yield wood. Harvest the dense trees and replant saplings to maintain your supply.

Configuration Adjustment

If dense trees aren't growing from your saplings, check that enableSaplingToDenseTree is set to true and verify the saplingToDenseTreeChance percentage isn't set too low. Adjusting this value higher makes dense tree growth more common, though it may impact performance on servers with many saplings.
