Maximizing Drops from Dense Ores

Using Fortune Enchantment

Apply a Fortune enchantment to your pickaxe before mining dense ores. Fortune III will significantly increase the number of materials dropped—since dense ores already yield up to three times normal output, Fortune multiplies this advantage further. This is especially valuable for rare materials like diamonds and emeralds.

Combining with Silk Touch

You can use Silk Touch to collect the dense ore block itself, then smelt or process it elsewhere. This is useful if you want to move ores to a central location or process them with other mods. However, direct mining with Fortune typically yields more raw materials.

Experience Farming

Dense ores drop increased experience compared to regular ores (except iron, copper, and gold variants). Mine them with an unenchanted pickaxe if you're experience farming, or use Fortune if you prioritize material collection. Plan your mining strategy based on whether you need resources or levels.
