Why Your Deleted World Isn't in the Recycle Bin (and What to Check)

Confirm your system actually supports trash deletion

This mod relies on your operating system having a working trash/recycle bin. The mod adds a custom interface that tells you whether trash-based deletion is supported on your system. Open the world deletion screen and read that indicator before assuming something is broken.

If the interface reports that trash deletion is not supported, deleted worlds will be removed permanently instead of being moved to the trash. In that case there is nothing to recover.

Common reasons a world won't appear in the trash

  • The world was deleted before the mod was installed. Only worlds deleted while the mod is active get routed to the trash.
  • You deleted the world from inside the game but your OS trash is disabled or full. Some systems skip the trash when it is turned off or out of space.
  • You are looking in the wrong trash. If you run Minecraft under a different user account or a sandboxed launcher, the trash may belong to that account, not your main one.
  • The world was removed by something other than the delete button, such as manually deleting the folder in your file manager. That bypasses the mod entirely.

If none of these apply and the interface says trash is supported, try deleting a throwaway test world and immediately check the trash to verify the pipeline works on your setup.
