Adjust Texture Sharpness and Shading Intensity
Understanding Shading in This Pack
Default HD 256x applies soft shading and subtle shadows directly into block textures. This creates depth without requiring shader mods. However, the intensity of these shadows can feel different depending on your monitor brightness and in-game lighting settings.
Customizing Visual Appearance
1. Adjust brightness: Open Video Settings and modify Brightness slider—higher values reduce shadow visibility, lower values enhance shading depth
2. Change Gamma: Experiment with Gamma settings (if available in your launcher) to brighten or darken overall appearance
3. Toggle smooth lighting: Enable "Smooth Lighting" in Video Settings for softer transitions between lit and shadowed areas
4. Modify contrast: On your monitor settings, increase contrast slightly to make the 256x textures pop more
Best Viewing Conditions
Default HD 256x looks best in well-lit environments. Play during daytime in-game for maximum texture clarity. Underground areas will naturally show more shadow detail due to the pack's soft shading design.
If textures look too soft or blurry, your GPU may be applying texture filtering—check your graphics driver settings and enable "sharp" or "nearest" filtering if available.
