How to Get Death Messages for Villagers and Named Entities
Why This Matters
By default, the mod already shows a death message whenever a villager or a named entity dies. This helps you notice when a villager you were trading with, or a named pet or mob, has been killed, even if you were not nearby.
Enable Messages for All Entity Deaths
There is a separate option to send a death message for any entity death, not just villagers and named entities. This is disabled by default because it can flood chat on busy servers. If you want it, open the mod config and enable the option for all entity deaths.
Tune It for Your Server
On a server with many mobs, enabling all entity deaths will produce a lot of chat spam. Consider leaving it off and relying on the villager and named entity messages, which cover the cases most players actually care about. If you do enable it, warn your players so they know why chat is busier.
Check the Config Location
On a client, the config is stored locally. On a server, the server-side config controls what all players see. Make sure you edit the correct one, otherwise your change will not apply to everyone.
